About Lineboar

The concept of a piggable pipeline pressure isolation tool originated in the early 1970s, and mechanical tools were built using tethers (passed through the launcher door) to operate them.

Although useful for short distances, the goal was to combine the piggable mechanical pressure isolation tool with a system that could communicate with the tool, in real time, with actual data, from the outside, through the ground cover and through the steel.

In the late 90’s and early part of the 21st Century Lineboar developed a mechanical pressure isolation tool on the principles incorporated into the Lineboar Piggable Valve.  In 2007, Lineboar successfully completed the communication system, allowing the Piggable Valve to be operated at any point in the pipeline, without uncovering the pipeline and without intervening in any way.

Upon the successful implementation of these two technologies Lineboar began design and construction of several Piggable Valves for testing and commercial purposes.

Having been proven, and highly successful in over 200 tests, Lineboar now offers the Piggable Valve as a service to isolate pressure in all types and sizes of pipelines.

Lineboar is affiliated with both BJB Services Inc. (Midland, TX), and Tucker Construction Inc. (Lindsay, OK), all of which are owned by Linestar Holdings, Inc., allowing Lineboar to offer complete turn-key pipeline construction, modification and repair products and services.

Lineboar, together with its affiliates, is able to offer not only the Piggable Valve / pipeline isolation service, but most any pipeline product or service, including:

  • Pipeline construction
  • Pipeline inspection
  • Pipeline cleaning and other pigging products
  • Nitrogen services – both liquid and on-site generation (patented system)
